Advanced energy, technology fuel demand for silver

Last year, a record 242.9 million ounces of silver were needed to meet global demand of the metal for electrical and electronics uses, and 47 million ounces were utilized in thick-film PV solar modules. Vital to a range of new technologies, silver’s industrial demand could reach a record 665.9 million ounces in 2015.
