Video: Permitting delays hinder America’s economic growth

Posted on July 31, 2012 by Minerals Make Life

A new animated video from the National Mining Association illustrates how the United States’ inefficient minerals mining permitting process, which can take up to 10 years, is stifling job creation and halting economic growth.

Speaking before the U.S. House of Representatives recently, NMA President Hal Quinn stated, “the length, complexity and uncertainty of the permitting process are the primary reasons investors give for not investing in U.S. minerals mining.”

As shown in the video, supporting common-sense legislation that would fix a slow, redundant permitting process will allow the United States to compete for mining investment dollars in the global marketplace, create jobs and help America prosper.
