In a recent response to the guest column, “For Southern Arizona's sake, we mustn't let the Rosemont mine happen,” Fermin Samorano speaks on the benefits that the Rosemont mine would bring to the Tucson community. As a mine manager with Rosemont Copper, Samorano has experienced the positive impacts of mining and labels it a “foundation industry for a community” with both direct and indirect high-paying positions in the science, technology and engineering fields.
Samorano also comments on the ability of the Rosemont Copper leadership team to operate this potential mine, noting the “400 years of cumulative mining experience” among the company’s employees.
