Proposed Nevada copper mine would mean jobs and growth for local economy

In an op-ed published in the Reno Gazette-Journal, Nevada native Laura Tennant wrote that mining has brought Lyon County, Nev., “rays of sunshine when it comes to creating local jobs.” Nevada Copper’s proposed Pumpkin Hollow project is expected to bring about 800 jobs to Yerington, a town currently suffering from high unemployment.
