Reuters reported this week that graduates from the Colorado School of Mines are among the most employable in the country. Notably, 94 percent of 2011 graduates from the mining engineering, metallurgy and materials, geological engineering and geophysics programs are currently employed — with average starting offers of approximately $65,000 a year.
Travis Howard, a senior double majoring in mechanical engineering and metallurgy, said of his classmates, “pretty much everyone is sitting on an offer or two.”
